During Q1 202, Sovereign Finance AVC hosted 10 Subcommittee Meetings, where we shared our perspectives and received valuable feedback from MKR holders, Ecosystem Actors, and Aligned Delegates.

Document Structure

The Aligned Scope Proposals document of Sovereign Finance AVC is organized as follows:

  1. Perspectives and View: Here we will give our point of view on different aspects of the current state of MakerDAO, the development of the Next Generation Atlas, the road to the Endgame, and the vision for the future.
  2. Governance Scope Proposal: Here, we include the Governance Scope proposal that we have been working on during Q1 2024. Each proposed improvement is accompanied by an explanation of the underlying rationale.
  3. Common Proposals: In this section, we share the proposal that applies identically to the five scopes regarding the Advisory Council Membership Management.

Next-gen Atlas

Per MIP113 12.4 which states "AVCs must devote the majority of their time and energy towards discussing and understanding how the Next Generation Atlas will work and how to incorporate AI efficiently into long-term governance and AVC operations, as well as assisting in the creation of the Next Generation Atlas. This priority supersedes their other responsibilities'', with this directive in mind, we have devoted a large part of our Subcommittee Meetings of this first quarter of 2024 to understanding, reporting discussing the development tasks of the new Atlas, the preparatory calls, and workshops conducted for this purpose, and engaging in meaningful discussions on related forum posts.

Sovereign Finance AVC view: The development of Next Generation ATLAS is crucial for easy participation of MKR holders in Maker’s governance. The integration of AI is expected to allow governance participants to easily perform tasks such as project bidding, monitoring rules breaches, understanding complex processes, and integrating new data into the system.

Our advice and recommendation to the Aligned Delegates following Sovereign Finance AVC is to support its development and prioritize the allocation of their resources accordingly. Similarly, the use of treasury resources for its development should also be prioritized.

In our first meeting of the quarter, we discussed which is the best way for AVCs to contribute to the GAIT.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we have not found an efficient way to contribute to the development of the GAIT. The Atlas Endeavor workforce started by Ecosystem was suddenly deprecated. Currently, the new Ecosystem Actor, Atlas Axis, has been tasked with forming a working group to draft the content for the new Atlas. The role assigned to the AVCs is to review this work. Therefore, we are eagerly awaiting the outcome.

Sovereign Finance AVC view: Often, we encounter difficulties in understanding the current state of processes or the work being undertaken in the drafting of the new Atlas.
